Selling jewelry you can't see the buyer for should feel safe, not like a leap of faith. Here is exactly what happens from the moment you reach out to the moment you're paid — four steps, no obligation, and nothing touched until you say yes.
The four steps
Request your free shipping kit
Tell us what you have. We email you a prepaid, fully-insured FedEx label and simple packing instructions — on our account, so you pay nothing. It arrives by email, so there's no box to wait for.
Drop it at any FedEx
Pack your pieces with the instructions and hand the parcel to any FedEx location. The prepaid label is insured to the full value of your pieces — door to door, both directions, tracked, with a signature required at every handoff.
We value it and send a written offer
Your pieces are examined and valued by a gemologist — that's all that happens to them. You receive a written offer with the metal value and any brand or gemstone premium laid out separately. Nothing is melted, altered, dismantled or sold until you accept in writing.
Paid the same day, or returned free
Accept any or all of the offer and you're paid the same day by bank transfer. Decline, and everything comes back to you — free and fully insured, exactly as it arrived.
What's in your free shipping kit
It arrives by email — there's no box to wait for.
- A prepaid FedEx label, on our account — you pay nothing to ship
- Full-value insurance both ways through dedicated jewelry cover (IFS / In4Sure)
- Simple packing instructions so your pieces travel safely
- Tracking and a signature required at every handoff
- A free, fully insured return if you decline the offer
How your offer is built
There's no mystery number. Your offer comes in two parts, shown separately: the metal value at the day's live spot price, and a brand or gemstone premium based on maker, condition and current resale demand.
Plain, unsigned gold is paid at melt value — the floor. Signed, antique and gem-set pieces are a different story: they're never blindly melted. We value them piece by piece on the resale market, which is usually well above melt — because we're jewelers, and the best pieces go into our own collection rather than a refiner's crucible.
Nothing is touched before you accept. While your pieces are with us they are examined and valued — nothing more. Nothing is melted, altered, dismantled or sold until you accept an offer in writing. Say no, and the same pieces come back, free and insured.
How you're protected, the whole way
The shipment is covered by dedicated jewelry insurance (IFS / In4Sure) — not a carrier's default limit — for the full value of your pieces, in both directions, tracked and signature-required at every step. If a parcel were ever lost or damaged in transit, you're covered for the full insured value, and it costs you nothing. See how mail-in compares to a pawn shop or walk-in jeweler →
What we most want to buy
If it's old, signed or set, we want it. Estate and signed jewelry, diamonds, luxury watches and gem-set antiques are worth far more than their metal — and they're exactly the pieces a weigh-it-and-melt buyer will underpay you for. Frequently asked questions
How does selling jewelry by mail work?
In four steps. You tell us what you have and we email a prepaid, fully-insured FedEx label. You drop the parcel at any FedEx location. A gemologist values your pieces and sends a written offer with the metal value and any premium shown separately. You accept and get paid the same day by bank transfer — or decline, and everything comes back free and insured.
Is the shipping kit really free, and is there a box to wait for?
Yes, it's free — and it arrives by email, not in the post, so there's no box to wait for: a prepaid, fully-insured FedEx label on our account plus simple packing instructions. You pay nothing to ship, and nothing to have items returned if you decline.
Is my jewelry insured in transit and while it's with you?
Yes. The prepaid FedEx label is backed by dedicated jewelry insurance (IFS / In4Sure) that covers the full value of your pieces — door to door, both directions, tracked, with a signature required at every handoff. While your pieces are with us they're examined and valued only; nothing is melted, altered, dismantled or sold until you accept in writing.
How is the offer calculated?
In two parts, shown separately: the metal value at the day's live spot price, and a brand or gemstone premium based on maker, condition and resale demand. Plain gold is paid at melt — the floor. Signed, antique and gem-set pieces are valued piece by piece on the resale market, usually well above melt.
When and how do I get paid?
The same day you accept the offer, by bank transfer. You can accept any or all of it — anything you don't sell is returned to you free and fully insured.
What happens if I decline the offer?
Your pieces are returned free and fully insured, exactly as they arrived. Nothing is melted, altered or sold before you accept, so there's nothing to undo. No obligation, no cost.
